To Texas gun owners, the most important committee in the Texas House of Representatives is the Homeland Security & Public Safety Committee. This is where all gun-related bills are assigned,as well as those bills impacting our ability to defend ourselves, our families and our property. The 2013 Texas Legislative Session is underway and as usual, there will be thousands of bills filed and most have no chance of passing. There simply isn't enough time for so many bills to work their way through the system. This is actually good, unless the bill you want to pass dies because time runs out.
You can keep up with bills related the ownership and use of firearms by checking the Bill Status Report frequently. It's also a good idea to sign up for TFC emails an eNewsletters. We will not be sending daily emails, so don't worry about your spam filter being overworked. We will send information primarily when a call-to-action is issued and we need Texas gun owners to make their presence felt.
We will also be tracing and publishing on Featured Bills that are of particular importance to Texas gun owners. This information will not typically be put in email blasts but will appear here on the TFC website. There may be occasions where a bill will warrant an eNewsletter, but those will be relatively rare.
Please check back often and by all means, GET INVOLVED!
Thanks,
