First Ellis said it's okay to lie to voters, now he wants to make criminals out of law-abiding citizens.
Texans can count on Houston Democrat Sen. Rodney Ellis to file one or more bills every legislative session trying to turn law-abiding Texas gun owners into criminals. Last session (2013) he filed two such bills and he has already filed four bills for the 2015 legislative session. His 2013 bills were so absurd that they were not even set for public hearing and debate in the committee to which they were assigned. Hopefully, his four bills will be ignored this session as to do otherwise would be a waste of legislative time and effort.
Sen. Ellis wants victims to automatically become criminals. Charles L. Cotton
SB257 by Sen. Ellis leaves any thinking person scratching their head and wondering why on earth would he wants to victimize a person twice! According to this Bill, being the victim of a theft could well make you a criminal. If a firearm was stolen, the owner would have 48 hours to report the theft to a law enforcement agency and the time would begin to run when the gun owner knew or should have known that the firearm had been stolen.
This Bill is a fix desperately seeking a problem to solve when there is none! Charles L. Cotton
Not long before taking the microphone on the Senate floor to admit that he thinks it is just fine to lie to voters to get elected, Senator Rodney Ellis, an F-rated Democrat from Houston, filed four more unnecessary and unconstitutional anti-gun bills. Each of these bills, the Four Horsemen of the Prevarication, will be discussed in separate articles.
